TICKET INFORMATION FOR ALL GRADUATES
As a student marching at winter commencement, you don't need a ticket to participate, but tickets are required for your guests.
The December 14 ceremonies will be held at the Xfinity Center, which is located at 8500 Paint Branch Drive, College Park, MD 20742, on the campus of University of Maryland, College Park. View a map of the College Park campus, and find out more about the venue.
To meet fire codes, each guest at the Xfinity Center—including infants—must have a ticket to attend. Tickets will be scanned upon entry. Each ticket is unique and will only work once. Tickets cannot be duplicated or sold.
Each graduate may claim up to seven guest tickets.
Claim or Donate Your Guest Tickets
After you RSVP for commencement, you'll receive a confirmation e-mail containing the link to our ticketing system. Use that link to claim up to seven electronic tickets for your guests. We encourage you to claim only the tickets you plan to use, because your unwanted tickets can be used by fellow graduates who have additional guests.
The online ticket-claim form will tell you how to donate your unwanted tickets. Please note: You cannot get your donated tickets back if you change your mind later! Donated tickets will be made available to other graduates starting November 26 at 9:30 a.m. eastern time.
Remember, you must RSVP for a ceremony before you can claim your tickets. Check your registration confirmation for the link to the e-ticketing system. You may claim your tickets anytime, but we urge you to do so by November 26 to avoid any last-minute hassles.
Distribute Your Guest Tickets
You'll receive a confirmation e-mail after you order your tickets. Your tickets will be included as a PDF attachment that you can print and distribute. However, we prefer that you e-mail the tickets directly to your guests through the electronic ticketing system. This will allow guests to either print out the tickets to bring with them or display them on their mobile devices at the door. Avoid last-minute hassles by printing or forwarding e-tickets to your guests no later than November 26.
Claim Extra Tickets (If Available)
We will open the donated ticket pool at 9:30 a.m. (eastern time) on November 26. Log on to the e-ticketing portal just as you did to claim your initial allotment of tickets. If any tickets are available, you'll be able to claim up to four additional tickets online. Unclaimed tickets will be distributed on a first come, first-served basis.
After the donated ticket pool opens, you may check it at any time, up until commencement day, to see if any additional tickets are available. You may claim up to four additional tickets.
There is no guarantee that additional tickets will be available.
