Eligibility and RSVP


The next Adelphi commencements will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019.

Our Saturday morning and afternoon ceremonies will recognize associate, bachelor's, and master's degree graduates who completed their degree requirements in summer 2019, along with candidates who have applied to receive their degrees in fall 2019.

Remember: Receiving your diploma is known as graduation at UMGC. You must apply to graduate before you are eligible to walk at Adelphi 2019 Winter Commencement. Please check with your academic advisor about the graduation process to ensure that you don't miss the application deadline. This graduation to-do list is also helpful.

After applying, you can check your graduation status by visiting the Graduation page in MyUMGC. If you have further questions, please contact the Graduation Services Team at graduationserv@umuc.edu or 800-888-8682, ext. 2-2299.


Eligible students (defined above) will be invited to RSVP for commencement using our online registration system. Registration will open in late October. Watch your e-mail for the invitation.

When you RSVP, you will be able to

  • Let us know if you'll participate in commencement
  • Select a ceremony
  • Tell us about any special needs you or your guests may have

After you RSVP, you'll receive a confirmation e-mail with important information, including details on how to purchase the required cap and gown for the ceremony and claim e-tickets for your guests.

Each December ceremony can accommodate 1,000 graduates. If both of our winter ceremonies fill to capacity, you will be allowed (and encouraged) to attend the Spring 2020 Commencement in Adelphi. The RSVP process will explain how.
